So the theme for her outdoor garden decor is... sea and succulents! How come? Let her explain: "A long time ago in a land far, far away… I became a certified PADI scuba diver in the Sea of Cortez, Mexico. The beauty of the desert sand and cactus meeting right up against the big blue ocean is one of those vacation experiences that will forever be a picture memory in my mind. I decided to create a mini visual display of that memory in my cactus/aloe/ succulent garden on my side yard."

So she created an under water world amongst succulent plants with shells, starfish, glass floats, pebbles and other beach finds...

as well as rope, a faux coral reef and anchor, a turtle, and a fish. To see it all and in large view click on images. Nadia can now scuba dive in her own outdoor garden!

Even the toy cars she found left behind on the beach became part of her outdoor garden decor scheme.

Also in the mix are hand painted stepping stones. "Prop them next to a fence or planter for an artistic flair, or sink them into the ground and create a colorful path," Nadia suggests. After all Nadia Knows Gardens! And she's working towards a Certificate in Horticulture with intentions to Garden Coach in the near future. I'll be visiting again for more outdoor garden decor ideas!

Wow that is a great garden...The mix of color and decor is beautifully done.
I am speechless!! Beautiful indeed.
I love succulents :)
What a fanciful little paradise she has created! Love it!
Oh, so glad i stopped by, I want to put a focal point in our front yard and there are some great ideas here, plus the scallop shells in the previous post have also given me some ideas on crafts i can do. Just beautiful.
I love the unexpected!! My mom is sea lover living in West Texas-- I'll have to share this with her, so she can create her own. Thanks, Maya!
Hi Maya,
Love this post and the succulents by the sea!!!
I just started putting my backyard in summer mode yesterday and was thinking I needed some succulents for my shell encrusted pots and seahorse planter. I must send you photos when I get it done. You if anyone would appreciate them :)
Have I told you how much I love your blogs? They are awesome and so inspiring. Because of you I recently picked up 2 fabulous old mailboxes at my favorite salvage yard and am looking forward to covering them with shells and things from the amazing post you did a while back on that wonderful shell encrusted mailbox that I can't get out of my mind!!!!
Oh and I also wanted to thank you for your sweet anniversary comment you left on my blog. You rock Maya in so many ways. I'm going to do post in your honor with photos that remind me of you and your blogs :)
Have a wonderful week.
Much love,
Terri
Oh I forgot to mention that a lot of homes in Laguna Beach, Ca. use succulents in their landscapes and it looks amazing. Next time I'm there I'll take lots of photos. Maybe you want to join me?

What a wonderful "underwater" garden she has created! I know most folks are used to seeing cacti and succulents in the desert, but they grow beautifully in tropical Florida as well.
I love succulents! Love all the little treasures too!
Thank you so much!!!! Nadia
That is so light-hearted and lovely - I hope Nadia doesn't mind if I copy-cat! A brilliant use of succulents (love the word...)
Oh, I love everything about this and need to remember it when we work on our courtyard! I would love to incorporate some of these ideas! ♥
I love the little cars in the garden.
What a beautiful garden and the special accessories Nadia has used throughout are really wonderful! Both of those stepping stones are so pretty...hmm now where can I use some of these?!
Kat :)
I love it! ♥
I'm simply entranced by this garden! I went right over and perused it myself. An exceptional idea that I'm so glad you led us to see.

Ooh..how pretty!! I love the first photo....
...very cool! she has created her own little oasis!
I never would have thought to combine sea & succulents in a garden, but wow, Nadia's garden is gorgeous!! You don't know if you don't try, right?!

WoW, Great Idea! Mendocino is well known for the abundant flowers that seem to grow effortlessly! I've heard also that Moore's clever designs received international recognition in 2004 when he exhibited at the prestigious Philadelphia International Flower Show
As a succulent lover I just love this so much! Great ideas and photos!
