Dress up your windows with nautical and coastal roman shades.

To make coastal roman shades is a great way to create a custom look for your room. And putting together roman shades is actually quite simple. At the end of this post you find links to some great tutorials. Some people use cheap blinds as a base to make roman shades. Some buy inexpensive roman shades at Target then cover them in great Fabric. Others construct roman shades from scratch with Coastal Fabric, dowels, pins, and string.

The first three examples come from a Cape Cod home, designed by Katie Rosenfeld. All these coastal roman shades are custom made. A lovely coral motif is used for the kitchen.
