Every year Country Living chooses a designer to design and decorate a house. This year they brought back a beach bungalow out on Breezy Point in Queens, New York, that was ravaged by Hurricane Sandy.
It's a wonderful breezy beach bungalow. The water damage from the storm had ruined pretty much everything -walls, floors, furniture. The home was down to the studs. So this is a beach bungalow makeover from scratch.
Chosen designer for the project, quirky and colorful
Emily Henderson from HGTV.
Emily's goal was to create a really bright, airy, beachy, happy, and casual home, with some antiques to give it a soul. And it is all that and more! I love the dark wood flooring. It creates great contrast and grounds the place. And if you have exposed beams like that, why not hang some funky
Rope lamps.
You can take the full tour of this 1,000-square-foot beach bungalow at
Country Living.
