They carry trays with a beach theme, nautical theme, shell designs and more. I happened to come across this particular tray set on Ebay for $127 (instead of $167). Check it out here.
Possibilities are endless. I'd love to have one of these TV tray tables next to my claw foot tub! You could use them in a sun room, on the porch, in the kitchen, even in the living room.

Recently, I came across paper placemats. They were "French", but that's the style of the shop. The owner found them at market (in Atlanta). I bet there are "coastal" patterns, too. The owner decoupaged them on tables, trays, chests, etc. Then sealed them with acrylic. Beautiful! These would work...and very likely what was used...on the TV stands.

Wow, it's been years since I used a TV tray table! And it certainly wasn't as cute as these ones - love them all, especially the wood tables in the second picture. Although the blue & white coral ones are pretty sweet too :-)

Nice examples of what's out there (to buy or copy!). Funny thing is, I have a set of plates that match the lobster ones! Never imagined they had tv tables to match!
