Glass Display Boxes

glass display boxes at Plantation
A few weeks ago Linda of The Lennoxx wrote about Plantation, an online store that sells Glass Display Boxes (and other interesting things, such as these Carved Bone Sea Creatures.

And glass display boxes are perfect to showcase and protect your cherished sea treasures! Pottery Barn once sold them, but not anymore. Update! They're available again here.

The boxes are similar to bell jars and cloches (see Decorating with Seashells), only more formal, with museum quality...

display rare finds in glass boxes
... which I would want if I ever brought home a trophy like this from the beach!

I've been looking all over for the pottery barn ones for my wedding. I think putting starfish, sand, or shells inside would look wonderful. If anyone finds them cheaper than the Plantation site, please email me!

Hi Maya, so nice to be back and see all the goodies you share with us. I LOVE these display cases. They are perfect for display the very best of anyone's collection.

I read back about the decoupaged tiles and I'm going to be watching out for some great napkins too!

Hugs to you, I missed you!

Maya these are totally cool, Love them and what a great idea to display something special. I like this better than a cloche that you see so many use today, thanks for sharing!! I am going to keep this in my memory bank,Kathysue

A great idea for the special collection. Or a little beach in a box.

Kicked myself for not buying some I saw at an estate sale. Sometimes I think too much about when I should just grab it and go!

Love these...they make whatever is displayed inside even more special. Not to mention it keeps delicate things from being broken by accident.

Wohoo thanks for the mention! I actually have a "trophy" like that, a shark jaw. It would look awesome displayed in a glass box, I've never even thought about it! Mine is hanging currently hanging on a wall. Have a great day Maya!!

and your banner of that coastal room? How lovely the brown/taupe colors are there! Usually, every coastal cottage is blues/aqua, which I love...since mine is that color scheme, but seeing those browns makes me wanna do some change. It's really soothing! Thanks for the idea!!

I'm not sure I have anything worthy of such a display, but the starfish certainly look great in the box, don't they?

Love these display boxes. I would love to find a vintage one and put in a beautiful shell.
