Pottery Barn has them...

... and so does Wisteria (click images). Distressed painted wooden lobster buoys in bold colors to make you feel all nautical. They certainly add a punch of color to your decor! These of course have never seen the ocean. The upside, they're squeaky clean.
For authentic lobster buoys go to Ebay and search: Lobster Buoys

Then, the artistically inclined among you might be inspired by these hand painted buoys, decorated by artist Dorothy Hudgins (click image). Aren't they just fabulous!

And in celebration of yesterdays World Oceans Day Rita of Beach House Living is having a Giveaway and you can win something from her website Beach Bauble as well as her Etsy store, including this recycled sail bag. All you have to do is leave a comment and share an environmentally friendly thing you do! You must have a blog in order to participate, ends June 18th.

I LOVE the buoys - they are so colourful and cute!
I <3 that bag :)
I saw these in the PB catalog and loved them! I have to say, my faves are Dorothy Hudgins' buoys...can't you just picture them on a screened porch or beachy family room? Thanks!
Dear Maya,
Many thanks for spreading the word about the "give back". It is not a pretty post and one I struggled with not just in subject but writing. Those that have stopped by have left some amazing comments...
As for these colorful buoys I have a photo of some on my sidebar I took at an antique store where they decorate the front of the building. My father was given a lovely old one when he decided to pass it along to me he thought it would be nice to "clean it up" and repainted it!
So colorful! Love the old ones with paintings on them best.
These are so great. My paintbrush is itching to find plain ones. Wonder where I could find those/ or maybe I could chop some wood into the shape and sand the devil out of it.. I'm gonna call my FIL who is a wood worker and see about this. My mind is swimming with ideas.

I would love those...I bet I could make them. Maybe I'll try :)
Happy Wednesday Maya! I just added painted buoys to my site last week too, and I found some great distressed oars - inspired after all of your oar posts
Have a great day,

Hi Maya - I'm so inspired by "Beach Living's" post that I decided to volunteer with the clean up at the oil spill in LA. I'll be there with my husband on vacation anyway, so why not give two days to volunteer. Here's a link in case you want to add this to your post: http://www.volunteerlouisiana.gov

Oh, I love the buoys! Would love to get some authentic things for my home! I told my hubby I wanted a real anchor! ♥
I love the buoys too! Actually I do believe I could live AT Pottery Barn. I spend enough time looking at things in the store and on their website!! I am glad that you posted that link about helping on the gulf coast....I feel so bad for those people. What a disaster this is. It's very sad for the animals and the fish and the people whose lives depend on them...
i do what i can to reduce, reuse, recycle but i think the best think about living in hawaii is that we have no heat or air conditioning, just the fresh breeze! what a fun bag and bouys!!!
Maya, what a great idea these are!!! They really bring a feel of ocean into the home. Beautiful!
These are so cute! They have such a nice nautical look to them. I love the first Pottery Barn picture, those colors are divine. Who wouldn't love red and blue together?
