How fun is this summer porch!

coastal cottage sun porch
Looking at Tracey's breezy coastal summer cottage decor, you would think she'd always lived in the sunshine state.

coastal living idea cottage
Except of course for the occasional whale motif which is more a coastal New England thing. This is the entry to the 2008 Coastal Living Idea Cottage that she decorated. It is located in Scarborough Maine. Tracey grew up in the North East and only recently relocated from Portland, Maine, to Sarasota, Florida.

Tracey is also responsible for the summer cottage decor of "Sweet Dreams", one of the Cabot Cove Cottages in Kennebunkport Maine. As you can see, Tracey loves to give an entry a coastal touch with custom made coat racks.

And this breezy summer bedroom showcases another recurring cottage decor accent she uses, rustic wooden signs with words.

You know how much I love Beach Signs, both DIY Signs and Signs from Stores.

According to an interview with Herald Tribune back in February, Tracy is in the process of remodeling her new house in Sarasota in a modern Key West cottage style. I hope we get to see it soon!

I wish I could love there! Her home is just perfect! I moved back up north about 9 months ago after being down in LA for a year. I was tempted to decorate with a coastal theme but being in the woods it just feels off. I do have my shells out though. Someday I plan on moving back to the beach and will have my dream coastal house!

Love picture #1 and #6, the day bed from picture 1 is so adorable! The brown chair in #6, do you think the person used chalk paint to achieve that look?

How2home: I don't know if it's chalk paint. Probably not, just because she must have done those rooms quite some time ago, before chalk paint became so popular.

Any more information on the hanging doors in photo 5? I love that.

I also love the basket under the day bed - great storage idea.
