12 Fireplaces for People who Love the Sea

Stone Fireplace
I don't have a fireplace but I'd love to have one and would be happy with anyone of these.

Sea Theme Fireplace
Wherever they are, fireplaces are usually the focal point in the room.

Michael Grimm Photography
They are beautiful.

Jill Shevlin
And their mantels are perfect for displays.

Fireplace Mantel Decor
Or lean a painting.

Fireplace in Bedroom
And I would love to know what's on your mantel, or what hangs above it!

Coastal Fireplace
We gather around them.

Nautical Fireplace
Soak up the warmth of the fire.

Coastal Christmas
And we enjoy decorating them for the season.

Brian Vanden Brink
Some are very unique.

Fireplace in Bathroom
Others are in bathrooms.

Coastal Theme Fireplace
And then there are those that do not work. But nevertheless they are the focal point, rightfully though.

I love looking at fireplaces because I have a very difficult time accessorizing mine. I have a stone fireplace, similar to the first picture, except the stone extends all the way to the top of the cathedral ceiling (a good 20 or more feet). I used to have a pond yacht on it, but I got sick of that. Then I got some beautiful sort of long, skinny wood carving things from Palecek that I've grouped on one side, but I need a pop of color or something and since the fireplace is so massive it needs to be quite large and I've never really found the right thing. It's a conundrum that's for sure!

I love fireplaces! I wish I had one as a focal point in my living room, but I'm just going to have to pretend that my tv armoire is a fireplace and mantel. You have to work with what you've got, right? :) My favorite fireplace that you featured is the one in your header! LOVE it! Have a great day! Beth.

I have an old fireplace mantel attached to our apartment wall and I've wondered what to do with it. I am inspired by that post and since I can paint my walls here and they are white, Im intrigued by that black one. That could be great in my bedroom. Thanks for the inspirations

Maya, time got away from me & I didn't get to blog it :-(( Congrats to the winner!

The first one looks like a fireplace where a sea captain would stretch his legs, & tell his tales. The third one, the blue... so very cottage-y. A nice collection, each with it's own story to tell.

Happy Day

Oh...mantel love! We don't have a fireplace but installed a very (very!) old mantel to use as a shelf. Now my challenge is to make it look more like a fireplace and less like something that was just slapped up against the wall. (Which, well, it was!)
