Nights in Rodanthe and other Beach Love Birds

Nights in Rodanthe, a melodramatic romance filmed on the Outer Banks of North Carolina...

... Rodanthe, an actual town there on Hatteras Island...

... the movie, an adaption from a novel by Nicholas Sparks...

... and no matter how cliche or predictable, it's filmed by the sea and has Diane Lane and Richard Gere in it, good enough for me...

... from all I know it's a movie about a man and a woman who fall in love...

... if you have seen it, please tell! Because I'll be waiting till it's shown on HBO (that's just my rule).
All the pictures are from Here and not individually linked as usual.

Nights in Rodanthe:
DVD
Book
Soundtrack

...and do you remember these..., two other movies adapted from novels by Nicholas Sparks with beach love birds...

... A Message in the Bottle...

... and The Notebook...

... and then there are these two..., falling in love in the Hampton's in Something's Gotta Give.

I really like Diane Lane. It's nice to see romance by the sea in so many movies.

I also like Diane Lane. I liked the movie "Under the Tuscan Sun". I think I've seen it (on tv) about three times, which is really unusual for me. I'm not much of a movie person.

Seems like a perfect day to enjoy this flick for me. Decorating chez moi and a nice girly movie. Diane Lane is a goddess!

Hey there! I just saw Nights in Rodanthe on pay per view. It was pretty good. Parts of it were really fantastic, the scenery was fabulous, and you can't beat the cast.

I spent every summer from 6 to 18 on the Outer Banks, so it had a extra little fun in watching it for me!

Thanks so much for coming by my little world and for taking the time to leave a kind comment! Hope to see you again!

Love your blog!

I have seen this movie and was amazed with the house. I couldn't believe a house would be built so close to the water in a hurricane friendly section of the world.
All of your selections are great movie pics.

I rented this movie on V-day...it was definitely a visual feast for those who dream of owning a house on the beach.

I love your blog because of it's coastal theme. I own a cottage a few blocks from the beach in South Oceanside, CA and am currently renovating it. I always check your blog for inspiration!

There is nothing like walking along a coast line with the man you love. Nothing.

Nice post! The beach offers a perfect backdrop for a romance, doesn't it? Part of the movie Nights in Rodanthe was filmed in my hometown, Wilmington, NC.

To Laura I. Gunn. My hair stood up when I saw the movie. Can't believe the director chose to shoot that house. No one would ride out even a Category 1 hurricane in a house sitting where that one was. The house wasn't built that close to the water; the hurricanes brought the water to it. The locals tell me a hurricane took the house in the last couple of years, which is a story repeated many times on the NC Outer Banks. Pat W
