Blue Nautical Decor in an Elegant Maine Home

This stately elegant Maine home sits right by the beach in Kennebunkport. Decorated in blue nautical decor by designers Nicki Bongiorno and Louise Hurlbutt, the home features sea life motifs, boat inspired designs and some cool rope wrapped furnishings.

blue nautical living room

The large ocean painting in the blue living room is by Canadian artist Frances Lipari, and of course I'm partial to the Seahorse Diptych (click link to see mine!).

nautical rope decor kitchen table
The kitchen table base is Wrapped in Rope and the Rope Chandelier is from Pottery Barn.

ship inspired kitchen
The kitchen was designed to suggest the prow of a Ship.

nautical sitting room
A turret room with a ceiling made of cherry. The Nautical Rope Knot Table Lamp and the Mitchell Gold and Bob Williams chairs are from Hurlbutt Designs in Kennebunk.

Harbor Island bedding from Matouk
The master bedroom with grand views of the Beach. The built-in platform bed has Harbor Island Bedding from Matouk (second last picture). The Wicker Chair was Repainted by Hurlbutt Designs, who added a custom chair cushion.

nautical Eastern Accent Bedding
In another bedroom, nautical themed linens by Eastern Accents were used.

sea glass inspired bathroom tiles
In the Bathrooms, designer Nicki Bongiorno let the colors of the ocean direct the palette. In this airy bathroom she picked glass tiles that reminded her of sea glass.

porthole lights stairway
Nautical Porthole lights illuminate the stairs.

An octagonal screened porch with a mantel made with a salvaged wood that came from an old house in the neighborhood that was torn down. And guess what the custom coffee table is made of? A ship's-hatch! Find your coastal coffee table style here!

And a great place to sit outside is around the Fire Pit. To sea more of this blue nautical decorated home, head over to Maine Home Design!

I love the porthole lights on the stairs. I have them in our bathrooms at the cottage and love them.
