seashell mirror

Let's start with Lisa's Seashell Mirror. The color and texture of the seashells collected from New England beaches and family vacations in Florida were the perfect addition to her monochromatic bathroom. And the sight of the seashell mirror evoking fond memories of the beach, is simply dreamy (Lisa's own words). The mirror is from Homegoods and the shells were hot glued on, starting with the large shells and then layering the smaller ones over them. Lisa was going for a pile-of-shells-washed-ashore-by-the-sea look. And I think it turned out beautiful! For the full tutorial, head over to her site.

seashell mirror on wicker frame
You wouldn't be able to tell. Michelle attached her seashells to a white wicker mirror frame. So her Seashell Mirror has a lot of bulk, and each shell holds a memory also. Love it!

scallop shell mirror
This Seashell Mirror project started with a white easel mirror from Home Goods. Nora found all the colorful scallop shells on the Long Island shore. She was able to fill an entire painters bucket with seashells! She used E6000 craft glue to attach all the seashells. It's a heavy duty glue that will hold your project together indefinitely. She created a pattern that involved three layers which took many hours to get the whole project done. I love how the inner edge is finished with a rope trim.

Then a gorgeous oyster seashell mirror made by Beth for her in-laws Home on Indian Pass Beach in Florida. Some people also make these mirrors with recycled seashells from restaurants and oyster factories, you can view them here!

round seashell mirror
My Round Shell Mirror. I love how simple and elegant it is. It's a humble project compared to all the others.

diy seashell mirror
It took a while to collect all the seashells to make this jaw dropping seashell mirror, featured on Homemade Decorations. An Ikea mirror was used for this project. All the different sized seashells are nicely layered.

Make Seashell Mirror
And for this stunning Seashell Mirror , created with shells from beach vacations, an inexpensive mirror that has a fairly wide, flat base was used.

Every home needs a few items that are unique and meaningful. A seashell mirror made with hand collected shells can be one of them.

Maya, Thanks so much for sharing this! I'm thinking of doing an oyster mirror but I need to find the shells! I think I may have found somewhere close by that I can by a sack of fresh oysters...my husband can get the raw oysters and I get the shells!

These are all so beautiful. I love mirrors and frames of seashells. I have a mirror that had a scratch so I use it as a tray.
