Sparkling Glitter Crafts

I didn't win the giveaway @ Tales from an OC Cottage, but Mrs. M "The Goddess of Sparkling Glitter Crafts" sent me some of her glittered starfish and shells anyway. And they found a home on this round mirror -thank you so much! Then I spent a whole afternoon browsing her site, collecting projects to show to you.


Obviously Mrs. M adores beach decor as much as I do, in a shabby chic cottage way. To learn more about each project just click on images.

I Adore Driftwood Decor

Will you be out shopping on Black Friday? As for me, you'll most likely find me at the beach, walking off my Thanksgiving meal! And hopefully I find some driftwood on the way.

Why not Mount a Bow Maiden Ship Figure Head!

A ship's figurehead is the carved wooden figure traditionally mounted on the prow of early sailing ships. It gave a ship unique character and was believed to sooth the sea gods and make sure the voyage will be safe.


And here's a beautiful bow maiden mounted on the side of a house that I discovered at The Lennoxx.

Making Seashell Candles

Making Seashell Candles is such a fun thing to do, specially now as we are moving into the holiday season.


I've seen them in different online magazines (click images) and thought I bring them all together here.


They look so wonderful and festive, and I think they make great personal gifts too.


How do you make seashell candles? In short: Take some deep and straight standing shells, fill them with melted wax, place wicks with holders into the bottoms and let them dry. You can pick up a block of wax and a bag of wicks at your local craft store.
