The Wild Nautical World of Diamond Baratta

William Diamond and Anthony Baratta, the duo behind the firm Diamond Baratta Design, are not shy. They take the nautical theme to a whole new level!

In this living room a large nautical compass rug sets the stage. Sofas are upholstered in a lighthouse motif. The nautical theme is done in grand scale. You either love it or hate it!

Lighthouse Decor
A lighthouse marks the entry of the stairway.

You could argue. Is the nautical theme overdone? An anchor shows up on the flag, sailboats on the rug, lighthouses are part of the table and ship wheel fabric is used for the two side chairs.

Diamond Baratta Nautical Home
Indulging in bright Nautical Colors, red and blue, combined with Signal Flag Designs.

And on the softer side, in a Summerhouse on the Cape the nautical theme takes inspiration from Sailors Valentines which decorate the wall.

Oh my goodness. I'm such a fan of compass roses and I actually painted a mural of one on my ceiling in my old house. Love this post.

"I see a young woman writing a love letter to her sailor, longing for his return" ... these words alone make my heart sing :-)

I am of the school of design that says fill your home with things you love and never mind what anyone else has to say about it.

I love Sailor's Valentines and was hoping to find the pics I took years ago at the Bailey Shell Museum in Sanibel for a future posting. They are amazing, I wish I had the patience and the time to make one. Oh, and the eyesight, I wish I still had the eyesight. lol

I have to say though, I love that pink bench!

Maya,
I too love Diamond & Baratta and yes I could live with it because I love blue & pink! I would have to have a huge villa on the sea and every other room would have to be stark white to calm me down! That sounds pretty good to me!

I love the bold, mixture of traditional elements in a new way. When you love the beach is there ever enough? I would have never thought of mixing color values -- seen in the bedroom with aqua and then primary blue/red. Fun, fun fun. I want to live there!!
