The cottages are decorated by different interior designers, and I just fell in love with all the cozy bedrooms. They are so charming and simple, plus they show a variety of pillow arrangements. Most pictures are from the beach cottages Picasa album.

Two shams and one decorative pillow in the center. Love it! But I have to make a confession.

Up to this point I have chosen practicality and low maintenance over designer good looks.

Gorgeous rooms! Actually at the moment, my bed does not have any shams but I have used them in the past...My husband hates dealing with it. When I used them, I would just throw the sham pillows on the chair and use the other pillows to sleep with. That way I didn't have to remove the shams every time!

I think most husbands don't like the shams, haha!!

Love these images on the bedrooms. So simple yet beautiful.

Thanks for visiting my blog. I am in the midst of moving in a couple of weeks so am very busy at this time. Hope you will visit again as I will have more decor posts.

I would like to make some things in driftwood. Recently I saw a driftwood peace sign here in SC. That is something that I would love to have....I also saw some cute ornaments, sailboats, etc.

Have a great day!

Hi Maya - you really do not want to know how many pillows that I have on my bed.... I love them! Currently I have 10. Is that bad?

My husband says it takes ten minutes to un-make the bed because of all the pillows. These are all pretty coastal rooms. xo, Sherry

Three sleeping pillows, two inside shams and two decorative - so that's seven total.

Those cottages are wonderful! You really made me long for the days when I would drive 4 hours and spend a week in Bar Harbor, ME.

As for the pillows, my DH is 6'4" tall and, while slim, is very broad shouldered. He sleeps on his side and needs 2 pillows, so we often have to ask hotel housekeeping for extra pillows when we travel. At home, the bed has 4 sleeping pillows, 2 shams and a decorative pillow. I use my extra pillow to surf the 'net on my iPad til I want to sleep and then I toss it on top of the shams til the AM.

Love the rooms! I have 6 pillows, most of the time that's 4 too many!

I must agree, no shams for me! With dogs and a husband who does not like to deal with them I gave up years ago. The pictures have inspired me to redecorate though, maybe new window treatments, paint, but no shams!

Fun to listen about husbands & pillows on the bed. I drew my husband a picture notating which pillow goes where - sometimes he follows it & sometime - oh well....

Anonymous -your husb is a good sport!! How many pillows??

Maya- I love the look of the decorator pillows- but for me- it's not practical. For a guest room yes- for my bed-- nope. But these pictures sure are pretty!!

I love to sit up and read in bed, so my secret ingredient is a bolster in the angle between the headboard and the mattress, then a sham with a poly filling (stiff enough to prop me up) and then my beloved goose down pillow for actually sleeping on. All functional!
