Make A Small Wall Christmas Tree

I'm loving Pru's unique small wall Christmas tree made of wood -a fun shabby and easy to make wall hanging for inside or out!


Her tree was inspired by Ingrid from the Netherlands who created a series of small Wood Wall Christmas Trees made out of 6 different planks, painted in different colors. The planks are glued to a middle piece to which you attach a string in the back, then you simply screw small hooks in the "branches" and hang all your ornaments!

Pillsbury Cookie Recipe for Sand Dollars

Pam of I Love Shelling was busy baking a hundred sand dollar cookies on Thanksgiving night! She got the Pillsbury cookie recipe via my other blog Daily Vitamin Sea which seems to be phasing out..., thus I decided to add the Food category to Completely Coastal under Special Features! So for some of you this is a déjà vu -but it's a yummy and creative one!


Behind this simple Pillsbury Cookie Recipe is Susan of Entertain Exchange. While I prefer to bake with mostly whole wheat flour, I'm in love with the design. A few almonds and you've got sand dollars!


All you need is refrigerator Pillsbury sugar cookie dough and a bag of slivered almonds.


Slice cookie dough evenly and place five slivered almonds in a circle. Bake as directed on the dough package.


Baking and winter are a great combo, and I'll be putting my new sealife cookie cutters to use soon.

DIY Centerpieces

I experimented with some DIY centerpieces for Thanksgiving and went shopping in my own home and backyard -inspired by Lili's Post!


My harvest: Grasses!


Et voilà! The first one of my DIY centerpieces, fresh from the yard. A drinking glass jar poses as a vase, holding the grass bouquet.


I had two bags of cranberries around, so I used a handful to fill the jar and dressed it up with some of my drilled and gold painted shells that I strung together. Plus, I stuck a golden plastic thingy in there too.


Pretty leaves!


First I put a bunch of them in a bowl which didn't work, then I simply scattered them around. It's my least favorite look. And the winner is...


... my dressed up Wood Buoy! Looks familiar, doesn't it? See here: A Nautical Buoy Holiday Wreath.


I tied a craft wire around the buoy, tucked the grasses and a few leaves in, and attached a shell with a pearl.


And after Thanksgiving this Holiday buoy will go from table centerpiece to door hanging!
