When something breaks, just replace it with a shell.
I adore my new shell towel ring which I painted to match the striped shower curtain featured on Shower Curtain & Coastal Rug Combos.
This was the original Hand Towel Ring. The white ceramic inlay broke when it I dropped it on the floor, so I came up with a replacement -a seashell.
The scallop shell I found in my collection was the perfect fit. I Drilled the Shell with a regular drill. The trick is not to apply any pressure, but to just grind along, so not to crack the shell. Then I filled the shell with Wall Spackle to give the ring (that attaches to the wall bracket) a solid base (again, not to crack the shell). And voilà.
