Apparently razor shells wash up in Holland too! Connie and her husband live there, by the Northsea. They both love natural beachy decorations and I'm so glad that Connie found Completely Coastal and sent me pictures of this project.

Connie confirms what I thought when I first saw the shell lamp. It's a lot of work! But it's so worth it! They bought a simple paper lamp at Ikea and glued the razor shells on the lamp.

The difficulty is, she says, to glue the razor shells evenly. So they used nylon flexible thread around each layer until everything was dried.

What a gorgeous shell lamp! You can see more of Connie's home on Facebook here.

And these are some matching oil candles they made -great idea! Connie works at home as a massage therapist. I bet all her clients just love the warm and beachy ambience. I would! Feel free to look at her site Sea Sensuals..., and check out her wonderful Sea Soaps too!
Thank you so much Connie for sharing this project!

Great look. I wonder what else you could attach to that lamp, shell-wise.

I'm not familiar with this shell that I'm aware of. What an interesting lamp...looks like too much work for me, very cool.
What an awesome lamp!
I am a huge fan of razor clams! The best I've ever had were on the Oregon Coast!
I love it!
I haven't seen razor shells before but I love this lamp.
