Vintage globe decor makes sense -since about 70 percent of our planet's surface is covered by oceans and seas! I happen to love vintage globes, and they are actually quite collectible. So here are a few inspirational interior shots! (Image)

Sharilyn's Vintage Globe Collection.

Globe decor mixed with other items in Mary Kay Andrew's cottage on Tybee island, featured in BHG. Remember her Beach Cottage Remodel?

This room was created with only $150 worth of inexpensive maps and a fabulous large globe (Southern Accents).

Another vintage globe that stands out (House Beautiful).

Globe decor with old world charm all around -a beautiful display (House Beautiful).

This image from BHG inspired this post! Decorating with vintage globes can't possibly get more creative..., oh wait, it can...
... Lori used her Vintage Globe as a table centerpiece! Do you have a vintage globe in your home? If so, I'd love to know where you display it. More globe decor to come!

I really like the inspirational picture with the smaller globes, great idea! The centerpiece looks great there with the blue cups and plates.

I love, love, love your inspiration photo. I remember that I loved that entire spread. I have an office with paintings/art of places we've traveled. I've thought about adding globes. I may have to do that.
I have a globe at home, but it's not vintage. It's in my husband's office and we use it quite a lot when we refer to the next place we'd like to visit. Thanks for showing us these lovely globe collection.

I've never really wanted a globe, but I have to say that I'm impressed with the examples you shared.
I don't have one. But I notice all things globe-related have become immensely popular lately.

No no globes, lots of nautical maps. These are great looks maybe I will pick up an old globe next time I come across one.
Oh, I love them all! We have actually been on the lookout for a globe! So many great ideas ! (my hubby has one, too! lol) ♥
Lovely! Especially that centerpiece!
The great thing about globes is that they can all be different but they'll also always be the same.
Fabulous - you know I have ALWAYS been fascinate with globes - always wanted them - but thought - what will I do with it? I LOVE how these are just everywhere - great idea! OK - now I can allow myself to make those purchases - this is so inspiring to me!

NO vintage globes here, but the fascinate me, always have. Not sure why but they just do!!Love all of the examples of how they can be displayed.Kathysue
I am a map and globe person too. The pale colors and just the sense of travel that they evoke. Our globes/maps are in my son's room. He has a large vintage world map on his wall. When my children were toddlers we had a hug map of Africa on display in our living room because we were intending on moving there. We wanted our children to be raised different and so we were trying to go and live a simple lifestyle in a hut. I think I will use this idea of a globe as a centerpiece! And I love all these images you have here.
My husband has vintage globe on his desk - I put it there because I like the colours and the suggestion of adventure. It is upside down - as he is Australian...
Love maps and globes. I never thought to incorporate the globes into my decor. These are some beautiful examples you have shown us. Now I'm sorry that I gave my globes away. ~Lili
