Painted beach sand pails and buckets can add whimsy and storage to a room, perhaps even bring back some memories!
You can use them as containers for anything imaginable. I remember seeing pails and buckets used in bathrooms holding rolled-up hand towels, for utensils, or as table centerpieces with potted plants, even as hanging storage. Image via

Or you can create a
Beach Bucket Lamp like Cheryl. Just stick a plain lamp into a beach bucket or pail, then fill it up with beach finds.

I'm planning to use some pails for a beach party so this post was great for me. Thanks! :)
I have always loved beach pails and often purchase the small size ones at Target's Dollar Spot and paint them for whatever I happen to be using them for! These are soooo cute!!
Ohhh! I love these - this could be a serious obsession (be still my heart!)

I've always thought these would be so much fun to collect and display, they are so delightful and remind me of my childhood.
These are great! I love the lobster lamp! What a great idea! It is funny to think that the buckets and pails that we used to play with are now vintage!!
Cute! Each one of these sand pails so darn cute. I can see why people might get hooked on collecting these!
So cute! I plan to paint some plastic buckets and do something fun for the kids at our beach wedding :)
I like the simple lamp plopped in & surrounded by shells. Brilliant :-)

The vintage pails are SO cute!
We used to get these pails at Easter time with Candy and little presents in them! Wish I had saved them!
I love those old pails in the first picture. They look great on that ladder shelf. I haven't seen any pails like that in years. I will keep my eye out for some though for sure. So colorful and fun!
Love these! Will definitely have to put these on my next "beach finds" shopping list for the Alameda Flea Market in August
I saw the first picture and thought wow! but I've never seen even one: then you give sources! Thanks Maya!

I love the old pails...I don't have any though. I did buy my daughter a darling reproduction pail. They make me smile!
These little painted sand buckets are the cutest things ever.

Love the lamp idea! And your new header. Craving some sunny beach time...with warm water.
I have such wonderful memories of the little sand pails. I'm on the lookout for one...but haven't found one that I can afford! I think I'll look at EBAY again! Thanks!♥
The bucket lamp is the cuteness!
Had I known how I would love them as a big girl, I would have saved my little girl sand buckets!! Loving those vintage ones! ~Lili
I love the old metal buckets and found out a few years back some can be expensive.
So cute! They just make you smile, don't they? And bring back such warm memories. I'll have to check out some of those great sites you mentioned....!
