My husband moved to Padre Island in August and live right on the beach. I have collected hundreds of shells and this clear ornament project is a perfect way to decorate in a simple yet tasteful way. I&#39;m also giving these to friends and family to entice them to come and see us and collect their own shells and sand!

I have done this with the sand and shells I have collected from the beaches I have visited.<br />I then painted the name of the island or beach the sand came from.

On my honeymoon in Maui 20-something years ago, I collected a bunch of teeny, tiny shells from the beach. I&#39;ve been hanging onto them all these years, looking for some way to use them and keep them as a remembrance of that special time. This is the way! Beautiful idea! =)

I bought one once in Hawaii to bring back for my daughter. Every year I give her an ornament. I thought having a piece of the beach would be a nice gift ornament. We used to spend every weekend at the beach when she was a child.

Oh Maya!!! I absolutely adore this! I am going to have to post it... and of course I will link you. I have some tiny pieces of beach glass sitting in a bag in my desk drawer that my 8 year old found in Maine this summer. He will love this crafty idea!<br /><br />Now I have about 30 massive clam/quahog? shells... any ideas as to what I can do with them?!!!
