I grew up in the middle of the desert wanting nothing more than to be a marine biologist, and today that is still my goal. Sadly, I am also still stuck in the desert because college is much cheaper in state, but I know one day I'll get there and get to love the oceans and beaches, study them, and see them on a far more regular basis. :)

I am a beach "bum"...the gulf is about 5 miles from my home and I am there as often as possible...even if it's just to drive along the causeway. Although I prefer the Atlantic coast of north FL...the gulf coast is just fine by me. And we get the BEST sunsets!

I miss the beach :( but I only live 3 to 4 hours (depending on Atlanta traffic)from Tybee Island (My Happy Place)& go EVERY chance I get! Growing up we had a summer house in Toms River, NJ ... spending wonderful days at Seaside, on the Boardwalk and the beach as children. When my mom passed, we sold the house, but I still get to the ocean every chance I get. I love Dewey Beach in particular where my family goes most summers.

I am so obsessed with the beach life, I am 40 years old & recently (Aug.) got married on the beaches of Emerald Isle, NC, my children were my bridal party. My husband first took us to the beach on our first family vacation in 08 & we have been going back ever since. I plan to move to the beach & live the wonderful life of a beach bum in 5 years when my youngest son graduates high school. As I say there is no better thing to have an obsession over, am I right??? Sadly we will not be returning to the beach this year & I live in Ohio where we have been having some serious cold weather so I am really missing the ocean badly right now & this necklace would make me feel a little closer to the ocean & possibly get me by til the next trip!
I grew up by the beach, moved away, then six years ago we moved back. Then in 2011 we moved three hours north, but we are still somewhat near the beach. I think for many, there is something inside us, that draws us to the ocean and cannot tear us away.

Blessed to live in the Puget Sound area in Washington State so I'm only a stones throw away from the beach. We visit the beach year around for events, clam digging, beach walking and to just be! I've lived across the street from the beach for 9 years now. Early morning, late afternoon walks or just staying there baking in the sun all day long on the weekends. There's no other place I rather be. The beach is good for the mind and soul and it's the only lifestyle I ever want to live. When I started my photography business I wanted the name Beach Bum Photography but someone else already had the name. I had a rough time after that trying to come up with a name, cuz there was no other name I wanted to use. Would love the opportunity to win this necklace ... Wow, so many comments! A true testament to those who love beautiful jewelry and the beach!! I grew up in Florida and spent every spare moment I had down on St Pete beach. Those were some of the best times of my life, spending it with the best of friends just enjoying the sun, sand, and surf. Fast forward 40+ years, and a move to New Jersey when I was a late teen, I am now the mother of five and new grandmother of one, but spent every summer down in Florida sharing my love of beach with them. To this day that is the only place I can go to where I feel totally at peace. Winning this beautiful piece would be a daily reminder of my love of the beach and wonderful times spent with those that mean the world to me.

For the past 30 years I have been cleaning a house beach side in New Smyrna Beach, Fl and always came to work and went right home afterword watching the families enjoying themselves and if lucky occasionally spotting groups of dolphins.Recently I decided to do something for myself and started walking along the beach after work collecting shells. I can't pass by one without picking it up! If you ever visit New Smyrna and see a woman walking down the beach completely bent over, that will be me!

I live at the Jersey Shore - thankfully, 1 1/2 miles off the beach, so my family and I are thankful for a house that still stands, cars that still run and no damage from the super storm Sandy. I recently took a trip to the Big Island, Hawaii and swam with wild dolphins, did a night dive with giant Manta Rays, and snorkeled in the best places! The sea is my home and it is part of me. Just moved back to the beach and we are loving every minute. I am creating the next generation of beach bums by taking my daughter (almost two) for walks every week. She loves it and I love seeing it with her.

I love this necklace! I love the beach. I live in Kansas and my daughter and I try to go to the beach every summer. We love seashells and just hanging out on the beach. It is true beauty.
I didn't grow up near a beach but I have always wanted to be on the water! We go to Orange Beach and the Gulf Coast whenever we can. People tell me I am crazy to want to live there because of hurricanes but I feel such peace there! My 3 year old great grandson loves the ocean and swimming pool so I guess I passed it on to him! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the beach - any beach - anytime - anywhere - my heart is always there. Whenever I get to a beach - the first thing I always do is go to the ocean and "tickle my toes" even in the winter. It is a feeling I never want to forger. I also walk in the sand, again regardless of the temps.
I look forward to every post I receive from you. My whole house is decorated coastal style though I live in VA., about 2 hrs. away from VA Beach.

I am a beach lover, and miss it everyday I am not there! My husband just has been diagnosed with severe allergies/immune disorder and the only place that heals is the beach!
I am lucky enough to live in a small seaside town in the North West of England called Fleetwood. Its on a peninsular so we are never more than a short walk away from the beach. I have a wish that one day I will own a beach hut here. They are only a few and are very hard to come by, but one day..... x
Hi everyone! I'm from Long Island Ny. Anyone who knows me will tell you, unless I'm on the beach I just cannot be happy. Though I live on the east coast and truly only get a couple months to be a beach bum, when that time comes, that's where I am! I have beach get togethers all summer long. We set up tables and tents and stay from morning till night! We swim, play in the sand, play board games, eat like we have never eaten and just enjoy the company of all who show up! This year we are rather sad and don't know if I will be on the beach at all. My beloved Long Beach was destroyed by the hurricane Sandy. The devastation is severe. My heart breaks! When I first saw what happened to "my" beach and boardwalk I thought there could be no repair. Long beach is not going to let that happen! They are rebuilding and will be better than ever in time! I have always taken my wonderful life at the beach for granted, never imagining in a million years that this could ever happen. I know now that I/ we must all respect and appreciate our beautiful beaches!

My family and I travel to Cape Cod every summer, it's kind of a family reunion. We stay in the same large house with all the kids who have been going there since babyhood. Anything that reminds me of the ocean is a touchstone because it is and always will be my family,
I am lucky enough to live on the Chesapeake Bay (North Beach, MD)and I am thankful everyday when I wake to some of the most beautiful sunrises you could ever imagine.
Even though I live near the beach, we work so much we rarely get there. Nothing is more healing to me than standing ankle deep in the salt water, sand smoothing my feet, with the contrast of shells beating them up. Love your jewelry!

I am grateful to know that I am surrounded in the midst of winter of people like me who celebrate summer and the beach- a beach baby who now in her 40's, I am blessed to have a job which allows me summers off so I can pass my love of the sand, surf and sun to my beach babies, who are now surfer babes... I live only 12 minutes from the beach, but miss it very very very much. Have been fighting terminal health issues for awhile now so really shouldn't go alone. I used to be a beach bum when I was little but I had to move because my dad was in the Navy and when he retired, we moved inland. Now I have no beach. I need my beach back and this necklace would make it awesome!!
I lived in Clearwater Florida for a few years and absolutely Loved it! I live in Oklahoma now. A log way from the beach. The ocean has always calmed my nerves and gave me serenity. I miss it oh so MUCH!
I live near the beach: Qualicum Beach in British Columbia, Canada. All my life I've wanted to live near the ocean and 60 years later, here I am at long last! Our home sits up on a bit of a hill with a lovely view of the sea obstructed only by the trees from the neighbours below us and the tree in a park in front of us.

Love this..so pretty.I love the beach and had to move in town after living five blocks away from the shoreline.This necklace would remind me of my life living there!
My grandparents had a beach home in Wareham, Massachusetts and I spent many, many hours there as a child, beachcombing, looking for sea glass, swimming, jumping off rocks on their little jetty. My grandmother would dig for quahogs and make chowder. Now I live on the water in Rhode Island and the Florida Keys and I am a very lucky girl!
I live at the lake . I cant wait for summer so I can take my grandsons out to the sandbar swimming again. Grandpa is good at taking grandkids beachcombing along the shore for treasures that always reminds us of those sun filled water logged wonderful days.
