This purple room is inspired by a sea urchin collection that's been mounted in a large frame.

I've never found any urchins and was wondering if the colors were real. Lynda who featured this home on her blog Seaside Style thinks that they may be. In fact, she has found several purple urchins washed upon shore! Lucky her!

Pam of I Love Shelling picked up this gorgeous Sea Whip on Sanibel, FL. Take this as an inspiration for a purple room!

Designer Amanda Nisbet is behind this purple infused porch. She may or may not have taken the inspiration from the coral that you can see mounted in the box frame. Or the Hydrangeas?

Adirondack Chairs on the porch of this Caribbean Island Home are painted purple to match the surrounding Agapanthus Lilies.

The color purple can be very vibrant and a dash of yellow suits it well.

I love the deep shades of purplish blue in mussels shells! See DIY Grapevine Wreaths and my mussels shells that I used as color inspiration for the Glidden Palette Generator Tool.

And perhaps you recall, the purple shades of the shell were used as room inspiration in the Coastal Living Idea House 2010.

Nice post Maya. I am not a big fan of purple but I do love the lavender hues that can be founds in the sea. This post made me realize and see this color from a different perspective. Thanks!
Regarding the purple sea urchins: we have tons of them in our tidepools at Half Moon Bay. Also lots of gorgeous purple starfish! I think if you check my "photos" on fb, there are several pictures posted.
Have a great Monday!
