Color Scheme and Palette Generator Tool by Glidden -My Image Inspiration

Glidden's paint site My Colortopia not only has a tool to help you find the colors that fit your personality (see post: Find your Color Quiz), it also has a color scheme and palette generator tool, called My Image Inspiration. It's the best!

color scheme and palette idea from shells
You can upload a beach photograph or a photograph of anything that inspires you and it will extract a color scheme and palette from it with the paint names! It's similar to The Color Palette Generator for Web Design that I featured a while ago, but for paint colors!

shell colors
I was eager to get the color palette for the mussel shells! So I took a photograph of two shells that I liked and uploaded it to My Image Inspiration.

These are the colors I received. And I'm loving the Antique Purple and Stone White! If there is a specific color in your image that you are looking for, then just narrow in on a smaller area by dragging the dotted line.

But this is not where it ends! Now you can click on any of the colors and this nifty tool will give you more color palettes based on that one color.

I chose the Antique Purple and the tool gave me three more color palettes to work with. Pretty great, don't you think. Pairing colors made super easy! Go try it yourself here!

I have been sponsored by Glidden brand paint to write this post but the thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

Wishing you all a colorful weekend!

Love the shells. I need to do this for my son's room. We are having the hardest time choosing a color and he no longer wants the "babyish" blue! You just can't have that when you are 8 years old - no!

Wow, those shells are gorgeous. Love your site, so many great beachy ideas. Sigh, I wish I lived on the beach.
