Marine Sea Life Art Paintings and Illustrations

I love art that expresses the beauty of this world. From coastal scenery to sealife.

marine sea life canvas
So I thought, for this weekend, let's dive into the ocean of marine sea life art and enjoy the paintings and illustrations of established artists, such as Kim Rody who just came aboard as a sponsor. Kim's beautiful paintings of marine sea life are bright, colorful, with a tropical feel. Kim paints on large scale and has created a line of Mini Giclee Prints on canvas that I adore. I love Kim's lifestyle too. In the winter on a boat in the Bahamas and summers spent in the mountains of North Carolina.

sea life art
Also new here on Completely Coastal as a sponsor, artist Gerri Hyman of My Island, who I first met here (virtually speaking). Gerri lives in South Carolina and her wonderful whimsical paintings of sea life are inspired by what she calls "her imaginary island". Her work also comes in pillows, floor mats and aprons -click here to view!

under water world paintings
"Sailing to exotic locations filled with the promise of escape and tropical colors are what inspire me most." Says artist Danielle Perry.

crab painting
A fun whimsical Crab Canvas Giclee that I saw at Island Paradise Designs.

under the sea art paintings
Under the Sea by Liz Lind who loves sunlight, sand and surf.

shell paintings
Gorgeous shell paintings by Harrison Howard who creates mural work in private houses, screens, panels, easel paintings, and watercolors.

sea fan water color painting
Beck of Empressionista is a graphic artists and has just recently gone back to her water colors. This delicate rendering of a Sea Fan reminds me of the real life framed versions. I prefer the painting, since I'm not a fan of anything being harvested from the ocean just for decor.

shell illustrations
Then, I've always loved the scientific illustrations of sea life, especially shells. A selection of framed Douglass illustrations (see their Field Guides) are available at Ocean Offerings.

I hope you enjoyed this little excursion into the under water world via sea life art.

Have a wonderful weekend, Everyone!
