I used to wind surf in my twenties, so I'm not a stranger to the board, but the 10 Surf Theme Suites at the Casa Camino Hotel in Laguna Beach (CA) are of course not about the wind, they're about the wave and Surfboard Decor. The redo of the rooms in the 80 year old Spanish Revival landmark hotel was a collaboration between iconic surf brands such as Billabong and local designers.
Described as sleek contemporary, the Billabong Suite 206 feels nostalgic to me. I hear the Beach Boys! The three-dimensional art piece above the bed tells the history of the company.
The bathroom is ultra masculine.
And part of the art piece, the Billabong logo cut into reclaimed wood.
Suite 306 of Casa Camino is Billabong Womens, with a much softer look.
Rip Curl Suite 314 has the sea theme in cold blue tones. And true, the water in Southern California is cold! To the left you can see the end of a giant underwater photo mural, and on the wall, Rip Curl surfboards.
To me the carpet seems a bit off; it's supposed to mimic the texture of the ocean floor with its green "seaweed-swirls".
And I love the photo boxes. Art and storage in one -great idea!
