A Hawaiian Sunrise Shell Framed

Check out this rare Hawaiian Sunrise shell. It's a very special shell and framed accordingly!

Framed Sunrise Shell
Kim was lucky enough to find a Hawaiian Sunrise shell at Mauna Kea on the Big Island back in 2004 and had it framed beautifully. She posted it on my facebook page here.

Hawaiian sunrise shells
These shells are native only to the Hawaiian Islands and the saying goes that the ancient kings of Hawaii would send servants out to graze the beaches at dawn looking for a special shell. They were given the name "Sunrise Shell" because the best time to find them was in the early morning, when the sun's light would reflect off the shell's beautiful vibrant hues, making them easier to spot. If you have a special shell -it belongs into a special frame!

Maya - what a nice post. Thank you and Lisa for bringing back a wonderful memory for me in writing about the Sun Rise Shell. It made me turn and look at mine that day and that is why I sent a photo of the framed shell to you. The beach and its treasures! A customer today shared a lovely story of her connection with the sand dollar and connecting it with her mom who had passed. She asked for a sign from her mom when walking along the beach not too long after she passed - she looked down and a perfect sand dollar was sitting there all on its own. That was her sign she said. Anyways, I'm running out of steam for the day but just wanted to say thank you again! Kim
