DIY Chandeliers

I've seen them here and there, DIY chandeliers -standard chandeliers decorated with ornaments, wreaths, garlands and precious seaglass such as Lili's Chandelier. Something to think about for this coming holiday season!

decorate chandelier with shell ornaments
Your DIY chandelier could be fully decked out with shell ornaments like this one from Ercole Home...

garland on chandelier
... wrapped with a lovely garland as seen at I Love Shelling.

starfish chandelier
... or adorned with starfish like the chandelier Erin of Elements of Style found in one of the Cabot Cove cottages.

Then, let's revisit the driftwood adorned Living Room Chandelier that was up for vote.

DIY beach chandelier
Maybe a little bit too much? A clear Yes from 87% of you! In the comments, Puna of Life Signatures and Rita of Beach House Living agreed: it's a great idea..., but not sure about the execution, which is exactly what I thought, and Heidi who blogs here and here nailed it for me: too random. Some of you cracked me up too. Like Sue of I Need Mom: "As much as I love driftwood...I'll just keep mine on the shelf." So thank you all for the great comments!!

I love the chandelier with the starfish - so pretty :-)

The driftwood chandelier is definitely a bit overdone. But I think it has a lot of potential - it would definitely look better with thinner & curvier pieces of driftwood.

I just love clever crafters... especially when they use seashells. Thank you for the mention!

I really like the first one, which surprised me but I like all the stuff dangling down like Christmas ornaments. That's my fave. now all in need is a chandelier! I have plenty of shells. :)

Great ideas :)

I love it when people personalize their space. I am personally partial to seashells, but the driftwood piece was whimsical and not meant to be taken seriously. If it makes the people who live in the home happy, that is all that matters.

I adore the driftwood one. What a difference it makes to an otherwise boring, black, chandelier! All have so much personality though. Pruxxx P.S. Hi Maya, thanks again for stopping by my blog. You keep me going... you're a true inspiration. Px

Maya,
I absolutely love the first chandelier. I wonder what they used to hang the shells from? I would definitely love that in my home!

I really love the first one too - I actually have an old lighting fixture that I'm planning to make into a little seashell chandelier for my guest room so this has given me a great idea.

Haha first thing that came to my mind when I saw the last chandelier was that driftwood had tangled in the chandelier. I agree, a bit too random and stuffed. I do love the other ones you featured though, esp. the one with the seastars.
