I also live on the coast (gulf) and I never find such nice bottles.. guess they clean the beach before I get there...

when i was a little kid i started collecting very old bottles.
basically because my mom would drag me to antique shows and the old bottles were all i could afford with my allowance.......and the were so pretty with the light behind them.

We consigned a lot of bottles to the briny deep from Oak Bay on Vancouver Island during my Mom's last year ... with notes in them no less..... ...but nobody ever answered... so I doubt they got out of the area.
Ever since I was a kid I have been absolutely caught up by the whole thing about notes in bottles.... or even fining a bottle from the sea....
