Coastal Designer Vignettes

Molly Frey
Linda from the Lennoxx wrote a great post about how to Make a Perfect Vignette..., "those pretty little landscapes of beautiful items...." that you can create on your coffee table, mantel, shelf, windowsill, dresser top or even on your nightstand. So I hope you enjoy this group of coastal vignettes, arranged by designers. Above, Molly Frey sticks to a color theme with her displays.

Frank Roop
From a folk art shell house to a driftwood sculpture, Frank Roop likes to display objects from nature.

Wayne Vincent
One approach to creating a vignette, Linda says, is to build it around a large background object, like a framed picture. This beachy scene, photographed by Wayne Vincent (designer unknown), is an example of that.

Scott Sanders
Designer Scott Sanders also uses framed art as a background.

Branca Interiors
A vignette organized on a tray, styled by Branca Interiors.

Carter and Company creates a little vignette on a nightstand.

Mabley Handler Interiors
Mabley Handler Interiors keeps it minimal.

Molley Frey
And another coastal vignette, done by Molly Frey.

These inspire me to play around with what I have!

Oh my goodness the first picture is exactly what I have been looking for to do on my mantel. I have the picture I just needed the idea for the mantel itself. Thanks for sharing. I love your blog I just found you.

Oh, that first picture is how I want my home to look...and it couldn't be more opposite. In reality, I can't live with all white...I would spill coffee on everything. I do love the look.

Love them all, but that fourth one is my favorite! I have a similar table, shells (of course) and I'm working on a pair of frames right now that will work for a vignette similar to this one.

New ideas for my new home abound in this post! Thanks Maya.

Beautiful! Tablescapes, vignettes....they still stump me...a lot! Thanks for the great article link. I'm putting that away in my top secret files!

Really beautiful and I think vignettes make a space! I love all of the photos, but the first and last ones are my favorites.

ooooh i love the idea of "vignettes" I had only heard this word as far as literature goes, but it makes sense in design. i think i will have to try this.

My vignettes always tend to turn into clutter. Still working on it :)

Wow Maya, thank you so much for referring back to my vignette post! I love the vignettes you picked out. One thing I really like is the three orchids in one planter look, that is one of the things I have noticed a lot lately and want to put into action in my own home. Isn't it crazy what a bit of rearranging of what you already have does for your home?? Thank you again Maya!!
