I love taking photos of our seagrass here in Florida (ours looks like the last pic)and when you move here you learn quickly how vital it is to protect our beaches from storms and hurricanes. They look pretty and delicate up top, but the root system is extensive. Beautiful and functional, definitely a win-win situation.

Beautiful photos! We have seagrasses at our waters edge and they really are so important, but also so pretty to look at!

Oh, I'm a big fan of sea grass! These species look like American Beach Grass, Spartina, Panicum and Sea Grass to me. I have seen this grass perform miracles with beach erosion problems. Such a great choice for dune stabilization and lovely to boot!

Hi Maya
Well around the bay here they have worked hard over the last decade to build up the natural protective scrub and seagrass and it seems to be helping.. We are close to the airport here and they really unsettled things some years back putting an extra runway in that juts out into the bay.. but thankfully they have now worked on restoring the beach fronts.. funny... 10 years ago there was no beach here. Now it is a wonderful walkway for miles and miles... with beautiful seagrass gracing the shoreline..

Love the first one.. is it the moon peeking out there??? I have a favourite photo of seagrass that i keep editing over and over... can't get enough of it,,, hahaaha... take care xx Julie
