No Spooky Halloween Bats here, but Alfred Hitchcock's Birds yes!

Hunted Door
Didn't this haunted door (assuming you've seen it around) remind you of something? Even though these are bat cutouts...

The Birds by Alfred Hitchcock
... I had scenes of the movie The Birds by Alfred Hitchcock flashing up.

Filmed (1963) in Bodega Bay, a small coastal town, 50 miles north of San Francisco...

Bodega Bay Birds
... where in fact the air can be disconcertingly thick with squawking and chattering (being a center of Bird Migration)...

Alfred Hitchcock
... and described as genuinely frightening, The Birds is the perfect Halloween movie. Time to watch it again!

Tippi Hedren
Tippi Hedren was having a laugh here...

Halloween Raven Cut Outs
... it is funny, well, these raven cutouts are. You can print them out here (pdf file), then display them in glass vases. Spooky!

Tides Wharf Bodega Bay
And The Tides Wharf Restaurant, in which the locals shelter from the bird attacks, is where Tippi Hedren has returned over the years...

Tippi Hedren in Bodega Bay
... to meet her fans and sign autographs, you can read about it on Kathlene's Bodega Bay Life Blog. I wonder if her daughter Melanie Griffith ever went along?

And what do you think of the Tippi Hedren Barbie doll? She doesn't look frightened at all!

I saw these. I think they were in my Cottage Living magazine recently. I simply adore the door.
Oh and such a cute doll!

I just love Hitchcock :) And bats are definitely my favorite part of Halloween decor.

I've never seen The Birds -- I'm not a fan of scary movies!!

The door with the bats is pretty cool :-) Hopefully, that's just a Hallowe'en decoration and not a year-round thing!! ;-)

I have actually never seen that movie. It would probably make me fear large flocks of birds the rest of my life! LOL. Have a great day! Beth.

I actually liked that movie! But wow, didn't know that actress is Melanie Griffith's mom. I learned something new today. Thanks Maya!

One of the scariest movies EVER! Tippi Hedren is so pretty. And doesn't she do a lot for animals? I'm thinking it's her.

What a great idea :-) A nice change from the usual Halloween decor. I watched the movie for the umpteenthy time awhile back, on a rainy afternoon. Hitchcock sure knew how to make the hairs rise up on the backs of our necks, didn't he?

Fun day,
