I love beach rocks and pebbles, even hauled some home for my shelf Floor Lamp, and just recently made this lampshade from a photograph I took. It's easy. You print a photo onto inkjet fabric sheets, then adhere the sheets to a self adhesive lampshade, add ribbon to cover up the seems and decorate as you like.So my lampshade was the inspiration for the following posters..., and as always please click on images for more information and/or purchase.
Blue hues by Paul Sinclair...
... brown hues by Todd Gipstein...
... then beach rocks with green algae by Mark Chapman...
... a single rock by Norman Gibson...
... and beach rocks artfully stacked, a great panorama shot.Shared with Do It Yourself Day @ Kimba's A Soft Place to Land. My beach pebble lampshade made it into the top ten on Kimba's DIY Day Recab + Winner.
Also shared with Show + Tell @ My Romantic Home.

This is inspiring Maya, I honestly thought at first glance these were real rocks on the lampshade.
Visiting from Kimba's party! :) Very neat project! Those are some beautiful photos. I esp. like the one with the single rock. :)
What a very unique idea for a lampshade!! This is a PERFECT idea for someone like me who LOVES certain looks, but changes her mind all the time!
Thanks for visiting me and commenting! It's always nice to make new friends!
Maya, the lamp shade turned out nice! Maybe an inspiration will hit me for my bedside table lamps (something simple, since there are two). Love the stacked rocks photo.
great photos, I love pretty river/beach rocks, they remind me of the tranquility of the water.
I love stones like this. I live in Florida so I never get to see them. I keep day dreaming of beaches like these.

Pretty photos, but the river rock brings back bad memories for me. I turned my ankle on year when I was walking across river rock. :-(
wow aren't you crafty. What a great idea. I also thought they were real rocks and was wondering how in the world did they do this!
Great project! Thanks so much for stopping by! I love Rhode Island by the way. Beautiful!
I love river rocks and the beaches in California were loaded with them. I don't find many rocks on my local beaches here, but we have tons of shells!
You did a great job on the lampshade. I always wondered how printing on that fabric would turn out. I'd love to do that with my shell pictures.
All your photos are such candy to my eyes!! I am a lover of all things coastal! Looks like you've got a wealth of tips here for decorating with the sand and sea in mind - love it!! Thanks for visiting my blog today - I'll be back to visit you here for sure!

I have a collection of pretty beach pebbles from our Jersey shore. I'd like to use them to make a backsplash for my pedestal sink that has NO backsplash. Any ideas how to mount them? Seal them? Etc.?
Wow, I thought those rocks were real! That is so creative! Thanks for joining in on Show & Tell!
Beautiful pictures! I love your creative lamp shade....very cute. Thank you for sharing!
The lampshade is wonderful, but I really like the balenced beach rocks panorama. I want to show it to my children!
Uh oh! I can see that making lampshades out of pictures could become addictive! Shells, ocean, oh! seasonal lampshades! I'm in trouble....
What a clever, clever idea. To make a lampshade from a photo!!
