My Orange Room

I love my orange room..., but there is nothing beachy or nautical about it, except...

... that the color was inspired by this Quahog shell..., oddly though, both my husband and I call it the pumpkin room, go figure...

... turn left and there is a window with a view over the Sakonnet ocean inlet, officially named Sakonnet River...

... to us it's a bonus room that we furnished with a twin bed...

... and two items dear to my husband..., one of his licensed chairs and a chalk drawing by an artist he once knew...

... and this is what I do in my orange room..., exercising on my mini stepper...

... and when I'm done I head back downstairs to my laptop..., you can see more of my home here: My Sweet Coastal Home...

I love the shade of that room. The inspiration for it is very creative (and beautiful!)

And I love those oars against the wall outside!

Looks like a very happy colour. All the more happy for that view... of the sea... no doubt!! Jealousy is a terrible thing.

Love the orange room! I had a kitchen that shade several years ago- such a happy color, and we too called it pumpkin!

Hooray for orange! It's my favorite color. I just clicked over to see the rest of your house - it's so lovely! That view is awesome. And I want your tub!

When I was younger I want an orange room too... a little bit darker than what you have. Orange makes me feel so cheerful. Lucky you... you get to exercise on that lovely orange room that looks so quiet and relaxing.

Love the color! I've wanted to do orange my own home; I just can't figure how and where. Maybe someday. I'm so attached to green -- and blues for the coast. I am a beachcomber and have thought I may redo it someday, extracting colors from shells. My shells don't look like yours though. Is it local to where you are? Love your home! And what a view!! cheers, -susan

What better place to have an indoor work out than a room called pumpkin but inspired by the colors of a shell and wonderful view across the water.

Liking the looks of those oars, currently debating using some in our beach cottage.

Love that orange! I had an orange room in my old house but it was more of a terracotta orange! I really loved it especially when the sun was shining in!

I saved this to read so I can come back and look at it on my reader. I have to say it takes a lot of guts to paint a room orange but you did it so well...it looks great. And keep working out girl! You look fantastic too!
