Nautical Birdhouses

Nautical birdhouses for your winged friends and for yourself..., yes not all birdhouses are meant for the birds, some are for decoration only...

... like this tiny abode handcrafted by Lillian Rose with gems washed up by the sea...

... or this handbuilt beach cottage, sorry birds, this decorative little gem is intended for inside a home only, but from here on they're all yours ...

... lovely nesting places adorned with seaglass. It's a craft project, click on image and see... (As always, all images are linked to their source, so for purchase and/or more information just click on them.)

... or what bird wouldn't love to call one of these adorable dwellings home...

... and honestly I'd love to live in a lighthouse...

... and lastly, a sprawling Colonial Nantucket residence that features three stories of wonderful detail, including a chimney and a full widow's walk (where women watched, waiting for ships to return home from sea). Only the best for the birds!

And then there are these, not so much nautical birdhouses, but with such hilarious names that I had to add them to the mix...

The Clubhouse for Purple Martins
-Champagne included?

The Cuckoo Cottage for Bluebirds
-but of course.

A Victorian Mansion with Copper Roof
-as I said, only the best.

The Mahogany Chateau
-I'm jealous.

The Sleepy Hollow Moose
-sharing room with moose, tight fit.

The Fifth Avenue French Mustard Crackle
-every bird's dream, I'm sure.

Wow! Those are so pretty!

"The Fifth Avenue French Mustard Crackle"? Haha, I wonder if that company has an employee who's job is to only name bird houses!

There's a place in Austin that builds purple martin birdhouses, and I see those things all over town. What a fun post!

Hi Maya-
These bird houses are so adorable...someday when my backyard is done, I would luv to have one. For now, what we have are two birdfeeders that we have to replenish once a week. The birds love 'em...we even get doves! I would like to own the handbuilt beach cottage (2nd photo), but livable for the birds.

Oh, I love the lobster float ones! There's a guy who sells unfinished ones by the roadside a couple of towns over...if he's there this year, I'm thinking of buying one and trying to copy our house design. Rather ambitious of me, but I'm willing to give it a try! :-)

Thanks for your comment on my blog and adding me to your blogroll! I love visiting your blog and seeing all of the coastal inspiration! I have every intention to someday live at the beach, but for now I just have to daydream! Anyway, love your blog!
