About Completely Coastal

Welcome to Completely Coastal!
An Inspiration and Shopping Blog for People who love the Sea.

My name is Maya, I'm Swiss, and together with my husband I live in an old Dutch Colonial home in coastal Rhode Island. I love the coastal life style, the sea and all the fabulous things that depict its beauty and essence.

At Completely Coastal you find selected Nautical and Beach Theme Products for the Home, including handmade Decor by Artists and Artisans, Posters and Prints, Books and a fun feature called Create the Look. You can browse beautiful Interiors, get inspired by great Craft Project Ideas, read about Movies, check out Coastal Homes, and on occasion I publish something about My Coastal Home. I hope you enjoy and celebrate the Sea with me!

You also find me @ Daily Vitamin Sea where I write about people who love the sea (and blog about it), and @ Coastal Style Living where I catalog all the beautiful interiors by type of room.

Note: All images are linked to their source, so for purchase and/or more information just click on them. Also, please be aware that over time links to certain products may not take you to the intended destination anymore as stores and inventory change, so if you love a product and need another source please let me know, I'll be happy to help.

Any questions, suggestions, or just want to say hello?

HI Maya,

I came upon your site while searching for the new book "Woman and the
Sea".
Wanted to share with you some information about Las Olas Surf safaris for women. http://www.surflasolas.com/
You can visit our site or read Las Olas in the book. We've been introducing women to surfing since 1997.

Maya,
I'm an ocean lover myself. With a favorite hobby of sportfishing, I was fortunate enough to spend years fishing off Florida and the Bahamas. I have traveled thourought the Caribbean and just can't get enough of it! My love of the ocean led me to open a coastal home decor website, www.obxtradingroup.com. I'm thrilled when I find new, unique items to share with my customers. I enjoy your blog and visit often! Take care... Deanna

Hi Maya,

I don't remember how I found your blog, but I am a faithful follower and have enjoyed every minute of it! I read it everyday and just reread old posts on Sundays. I appreciate all the links to other sites and the terrific decorating tips.

One of the most useful posts I read, was about how to copy a look - the particular look was the starfish on stands.

I moved to Boston, Mass. from North Carolina 2 years ago and love being near the water, but miss all the sunny NC days. We usually spend our vacations in the Caribbean, but was fortunate enough to go to Sicily this fall(happy to visit another island!).

I have a small business making fashion and home accessories from recycled sails, www.pinkoysterdesigns.com. Please, take a look if you have a chance.

Thank you for giving me enjoyable reading and eye candy everyday! Keep up the good work!

Kim

I stumbled upon your blog and really enjoyed reading through. I live by the sea in the small fishing town of Whitby, north Yorkshire UK. The beach is a source of inspiration for me as it provides me with the materials and ideas that allow me to make beautiful gifts from my finds. take a look www.artiology.co.uk

Hi Maya
I'm a former Long Island (Port Jefferson). I love the nautical theme. I have a post or two about the coast as well - here is a link about beach glass if you would like to read it. Thanks for the post.

Hello. I''m proof that you don't have to live by the sea to love all things coastal inspired. I too stumbled across this site, and it is great! I love to embellish items with seashells. I started doing it for my own decor but I couldn't stop. I created my own web-site featuring some of the many pieces I made myself. Feel free to check them out at www.sarahruthdesigns.com
Thanks!
Sarah
